B1G Stock Market Game Week 3
Welcome to the B1G stock market game! I know I was complaining a bit last week, so I commit to
never be like that again not doing that this week, mainly because I’m rich. We had two new arrivals last week, more to follow on one of them. Want to join? Read the rules, conveniently copy and paste below.
- Start with an initial investment equal to the average of all current investors. This week, it’s 504 Delaney Dollars ($ 504 DD).
- Select the team stocks to buy.
- After the week’s games, sell, hold and / or buy for the following week.
- The maximum number of team shares you can own is 50.
- The game pays a dividend of 10% of the current prices in weeks 4, 7, 10, and 13 for any shares you have held for three consecutive weeks.
The value of the team’s shares comes from Teamrankings.com. Each team’s value is the inverse of their current rating (out of 130 FBS teams), so team # 2 costs $ 129, # 6 costs $ 125, # 129 costs $ 2.
Which teams should I invest in?
Buy low, sell high. Or vice versa. Buy shares of your own team or feel fat buying shares of your rival. While no one can predict The Formula perfectly, teams ‘scores are mostly based on their game results, their opponents, and their opponents’ opponents.
Some players are diversifying and others are based on a single title. You will find your niche. If you don’t like the dartboard method, you might want to check out Dead Read B1G stock report.
So yes newcomer msufan23 slipped out of nowhere and bought Sparty cheaply. Typical shady crap that we’ve all come to expect from this lot. The state of Michigan has jumped 29% this week, taking yours truly from bottom ten to the top ten. Minnesota and Nebraska (in a way) were also big amounts. Michigan is overrated, but what else is new?
Speaking of things that go on and on, Northwestern fell through the floor, dragging down half a dozen of you. Time to buy, or don’t try to catch a falling knife? I look forward to the exchanges this week.
A note on dividends, you will notice that your two week catch is now a shade of green and the new buys are peach. Some of you bought more shares of a particular team last week, but only the originals are eligible for dividends next week. The far right column shows you how many stocks are eligible for dividend for each ticker you bought.
The opening bell has rang, here are the stock prices for this week:
Illinois 48; Indiana 91; Iowa 124; Maryland 103; Michigan 127; Michigan State 100; Minnesota 102; Nebraska 105; North West 44; Ohio state 126; State of pennsylvania 123; Purdue 90; rutger 81; Wisconsin 116
Get your purchases before ****6 p.m. Best time zone Thursday evening. **** And remember, greed is good.
@RockyMountainBlue, how about buying this week here, man?
